Becoming a teenager is confusing: physical changes in the body, social adjustments as you navigate a different school, and the mental/emotional leaps that come with both of those transitions. I remember it a little too well…. But I think that’s what I love about working with tweens– they’re on the precipice of this change, and kind of ready for some sort of transformation. It’s a great time to help them learn habits that keep them connected with their sense of self, others and the world around them. I designed this yoga series to be a space for tweens to come together for movement, meditation, and community building. A major tenant of participation is journaling– participants are to bring their own journal and will be sent home each week with prompts that continue class discussions. We will be using our 5 senses as a basis for this more holistic form of yoga exploration and also fulfilling all 5 requirements of the Cadette Girl Scout Science of Happiness Badge.
